A Wendella Boat Tour is a safe, fun experience for your entire family. To ensure your safety, all Wendella vessels are inspected and certified annually by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) for passenger service. All our Captains are licensed USCG Merchant Marine Officers. Our current roster of Captains is the most experienced staff in Chicago! In addition, each vessel is manned with a deckhand (s) trained and drilled in all aspect of the safe operation of the vessel. Drills and training include First Aid and CPR, Man Overboard, Fire Fighting and Prevention and Vessel Security.
In addition, Wendella has worked with the USCG and Department of Homeland Security to ensure an incident free tour. As a result, we have instituted the following policies:
 Our dock is under video surveillance.
We do random security checks onboard all vessels during the course of our day.
We can no longer allow passengers to bring packages and/or luggage onboard the boat.
Backpacks, diaper and camera bags, coolers, purses, etc. are subject to random search.
Passengers may also be subject to random search.
Anyone refusing to a random search will not be admitted entrance to the vessel.
No weapons are allowed onboard.
