Ticket Purchase Questions

Q: Do I need to make reservations for your tours?
A: Reservations are not required, but purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended, as our more popular tours normally sell out.

Q: Do I have to pay for an infant?
A: Children under age 3 are free, although they still need a passenger ticket.

Q: Do you accept credit cards?
A: We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.

Q: If I purchase tickets online will they arrive in the mail or do they need to be printed?
A:
You will choose your preferred delivery method at the time of purchase:
Print at Home: Your tickets will be emailed as a PDF for you to print and bring to the dock for boarding.
Hold: Bring your confirmation number to the dock and pick up your boarding pass from the Ticket Office prior to boarding.
Mail: Your tickets will be mailed to you through USPS.

General

Q: Where are you located?
A: Wendella’s Main Dock is located at the northwest corner of the Michigan Avenue Bridge at the Wrigley Building: 400 N Michigan Avenue. Wendella’s Dock at Trump Tower is located on the north side of the river at the lower level of Kinzie and Rush, just west of the Wrigley Building.

Q: Are the tours narrated?
A: Wendella tours are narrated by one of our professional Tour Guides. Our highly qualified Tour Guides are trained experts in Chicago history and architecture through our in-house Education Department.

Q: Can I bring a stroller, large bag, luggage, coolers, etc. on vessels?
A: Large bags, luggage and coolers are not allowed on the boats. Strollers are allowed as long as they are securely stored and out of the way.

Q: Is there food on the boat and can I bring my own?
A: Each boat has a bar with snacks (chips and candy). You may bring your own snacks as long as it’s in a small bag or container. There are no glass bottles allowed. School groups may bring bag lunches.

Q: Can I bring alcohol onto the boat?
A: Outside alcohol is not permitted on any of the boats. However, there is a full service cash bar on each of our vessels with a selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. Alcohol may be purchased by those 21 years of age and older. Non-alcoholic beverages are also available for purchase. View the bar menu

Q: Are there restrooms on the boat?
A: Yes, each boat has a restroom on board.

Q: Are life jackets provided?
A: While they are for emergency use only, there is a life jacket for each passenger on board.

Q: Are animals allowed on the boat?
A: As a courtesy to other passengers, only legally designated assist animals are allowed on the boat.

Q: What if it rains?
A: Our tours go out rain or shine. We do not offer refunds based on weather unless Wendella cancels the tour. Most of our boats have an enclosed climate-controlled main cabin.

Q: How late in the year does Wendella run tours?
A: We run tours through the end of November, weather permitting.

Q: Does Wendella sell gift cards?
A: Yes, gift cards are available online and over the phone 312.337.1446.
