Work is underway to completely rebuild the historic stairs leading to our dock at 400 North Michigan Avenue. The renovation is expected to last 5-6 months and will restore the landmark stairway leading to our dock to it's 1920's splendor. The project will also include improvements such as the construction of an elevator to allow greater access to our vessels.
During the project, Wendella will temporarily relocate across the Chicago River to the Southwest corner of the Michigan Avenue Bridge. The dock can be accessed by a stairway located at the Southwest corner of Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive, both from the upper and lower levels of Michigan Avenue.
An additional set of stairs can be found at the Southeast corner of the Wabash Street Bridge, at Wabash and Wacker Drive. Simply walk east from O'Briens River Walk Cafe.
We apologize for any inconvenience, and will see you back at the Northwest corner of the Michigan Avenue Bridge, at the Wrigley Building, our home since 1935. Work should be completed by the end of the year, and we'll come back home shortly thereafter.
